Photozone is a no-frills site. But it has become one of the definitive resources when it comes to lens reviews. Their reports are short, unbiased and detailed. In fact, whenever I’m considering buying a new lens, the first place I stop is Photozone. I can get the facts about build-quality, optic performance and even some sample shots before I start reading about consumer thoughts. Because, lets face it, the only consumers writing reviews are fanatics and people who absolutely hate the product. So before you start buying into the hype (or the anti-hype), get some facts in line.
If you’ve never been to the site, it’s organized based on what brand of body you use. So if you’re there to look up a Tamron lens, you will first have to select your camera body. The site can be a bit misleading in that regard, because the home page specifically cites “Nikon Reviews” which would lead the average person to believe they only review Nikon lenses. But I assure you, that’s not the case. In some cases, you’ll be surprised at the results. You may find yourself buying a lens from a company other than your body’s manufacturer.
So if you’re in the market for some new lenses, I would highly recommend you check this site out.
