I’m really debating with myself: What to do about my new works. As I’ve mentioned on Twitter and in some of the comments here on this site, I never intended Shutter Photo to become an educational site about photography. Well, I always intended it to be about photography, but the education part is what I wasn’t expecting. But things tend to surprise their creators, and I really am quite proud to say that the majority of the posts here on Shutter Photo do not fit the intended goals of this site. Truth be told, the goal of this site was to share my works and my thoughts, and little else. But again, I’m glad to have a place where I can share my teachings (and those of many others who have contributed and whom I have linked).
But alas, my dilemma is that I now feel that this site is no place for my personal works. To serve that purpose, I created my own portfolio, but that is not intended to be a photo blog nor is it intended to showcase more than I carefully select (my best works, in other words). But there is still much value in sharing my works and recieving feedback on them. And there is still much to be learned from them – and I am always willing to share my toughts and procedures in setting up specific shots. But do I share them here? Or do I create a dedicated photo blog?
And those are the questions I keep asking myself and I have yet to find a solution. So as I trust you all very much, I pose the question to you so that I may hear your thoughts. Should I continue to post my personal works here? Or should I create a dedicated photo blog for the purpose of sharing my own works? Post your thoughts below.
