From film to digital, Shutter Photo has come a long way. Celebrating five years, we look back at where we came from.

We’d like to introduce you to our new and improved website. From the improved mobile interface to the better organization, our new design is all about you. To introduce you to our new design, we’d like to take you on a bit of a tour of the new site.

We are considering a few upgrades to our theme and interface.  And so we want to make sure we are best serving you.  Below is a quick two-question survey that will give us a lot of insight.  Please take a moment (0r less) to answer these two questions so that we can better serve you. We’re proud to announce a new advertiser on our site:  Moo, fine printers of custom business cards, mini cards, postcards and so on.  We were introduced to Moo last summer with a sample of cards for review.  We were impressed with the print quality and of course the idea that we could print a different photo on the back of each card – something that serves as a portfolio in your pocket.  Personally, I really like their Green Business cards which are printed on 100% recycled paper.  They are affordable,  feel great, look great, and you can feel great about them.  We conducted our review and we are happy to consider them an official Shutter Photo Recommended Product. To that end, we were happy to have Moo as an advertiser here at Shutter Photo.  It’s a product that we use ourselves, have recommended, and are happy to share space with.  Thanks Moo!

It’s time for a new look, and we’re ready to roll out our new design. But we didn’t stop there. Oh no, there’s a lot of other benefits too.

The First Shutter Photo Ribbon Photo Contest is now officially ended. Now that it’s complete, we’d like to hear your thoughts so that we can improve future competitions. Whether or not you participated, we respect your opinion and want to hear what you think.

Those of you who have been visiting the site every day may have noticed a few subtle changes over the last several days.  We have been preparing for some upgrades – a process that cannot be taken too lightly.  The biggest change that you’ll notice is that we are now using Disqus, a great add-on for our comment system that offers a number of different commenting and feedback options.  At your choice, you’ll be able to post using your profile from Blogger, Worry not, you’ll still be able to post annonymously and/or as a guest.  We also installed a caching system and made several tweaks to our default theme in an effort to speed up the load time of the site. We tested everything on our test servers, but we can’t possibly pinpoint every piece of  trouble.  So if you experience any issues, please contact me.
